An important pillar within the exhibition program is Currents. An annual group exhibition that is part of a broader talent development program and offers young curators and recently graduated artists from academies in Belgium, Germany and the south of the Netherlands a platform for professionalization.
Currents was initiated in 2013 by Marres in Maastricht. Editions 5 to 10 were presented by Marres and Z33 in Hasselt (BE), with the venues alternating annually as exhibition spaces. From 2024, Marres will organize the Currents series in cooperation with Jester in Genk (BE).
