Entrance tickets for the exhibition are available at the reception of Marres. You do not need to reserve a time slot.
Openings
The openings of every exhibition are free for everyone to attend, with no reservation or ticket required.
Workshops and events
There may be a surcharge for workshops and events outside the regular exhibition.
Group visits
If you would like to explore Marres with your family, friends or colleagues, book a group visit. We offer a variety of options. From 10 persons and more we apply a group discount of 20% on the entrance fee.

This year, Marres is open every Friday evening from 5 to 8PM. These evenings are free for everyone to visit.

Directions
On foot & bike (± 3 minutes from Vrijthof square Maastricht):
From Vrijthof, pass Theater aan het Vrijthof and turn right towards the Statenstraat. Cross the Grote Gracht towards the Capucijnenstraat and you will find Marres on your left at number 98.
On foot (± 20 minutes from Maastricht Central Station)
From Maastricht Central Station, walk along the Stationsstraat to the Sint Servaasbrug. After crossing the bridge, turn right via Maastrichter Brugstraat towards Kleine Staat. Then turn left towards Grote Staat and arrive at Vrijthof. From Vrijthof, pass Theater aan het Vrijthof and turn right towards the Statenstraat. Cross the Grote Gracht towards the Capucijnenstraat and you will find Marres on your left at number 98.
On bike (± 10 minutes from Maastricht Central Station)
From Maastricht Central Station, the best route is to cycle along the western side of the city centre. This allows you to avoid the busy shopping area and pedestrian-only streets.
Start at Maastricht Central Station (Maastricht CS). From Stationsplein, cycle towards the Wilhelmina Bridge and cross the River Maas. After crossing the bridge, continue straight along Gubbelstraat towards Markt square. Continue past Markt and then turn left onto Grote Gracht. Turn right onto Capucijnenstraat; Marres is located at number 98.
Bicycles can be parked next to Marres Kitchen, accessible through the gate. During exhibition openings, we ask visitors to park their bicycles at the Brandweerkantine, further along Capucijnenstraat.
By public transport (from Maastricht Central Station)
From Maastricht Central Station, you can take city buses 1, 2, 3, or 6. Get off at the bus stop “Statensingel”. Cross Statensingel to reach Capucijnenstraat. You can also take city bus 7 from Maastricht Central Station. Get off at the bus stop “Frontensingel/Maagdendries”. Cross Statensingel to reach Capucijnenstraat

By car
We advise to park at “parking garage Q-Park Frontenpark” in Maastricht. From Q-Park Frontenpark you can go by foot towards the Statensingel. Then cross the Statensingel to the Capucijnenstraat and you will find Marres on your right at number 98.

At Marres, we want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. At the same time, we are committed to protecting our artworks and the building. We therefore ask all visitors to observe the following guidelines.
Need assistance?
If you have a question, need assistance, or are unsure about what is or is not permitted, please feel free to speak to a member of our staff. We are happy to help.
Backpacks and bags
Large bags, backpacks, wet coats and umbrellas are not permitted inside the exhibition spaces. These items must be stored in the free lockers or left in the cloakroom at reception. Small handbags no larger than A4 size are permitted.
Food and drink
Food and drink are not permitted in the exhibition spaces but are allowed in the garden.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited throughout Marres and Marres Kitchen, including the terrace. This also applies to e-cigarettes and vaping.
Please do not touch the artworks
Unless otherwise indicated.
Tickets
All museum visitors must have a valid admission ticket.
Photography
Feel free to take photos and videos during your visit! If you like, you can share them using the hashtag #marres_maastricht.
If you wish to use a flash, tripod or professional equipment, please ask a member of staff for permission first. Prior permission is required for commercial use. You can submit a request via communicatie@marres.org.
Children are welcome
We love seeing children discover Marres. Admission is free for visitors under the age of 18. Please keep an eye on young visitors and help them engage with the artworks and exhibition spaces safely.
Pets
Dogs and other pets are not permitted inside Marres, with the exception of assistance dogs. We trust assistance dog users to make an informed decision about whether bringing their dog is necessary, particularly if the safety or well-being of the dog, other animals or people may be at risk.
Liability and security
For your safety and the protection of the museum, video surveillance is in operation.
Accessibility
Marres is housed in a historic building. Unfortunately, only the ground floor is accessible to wheelchair users, and only for wheelchairs up to 90 cm wide. If you are unable to navigate the museum independently, you may bring one accompanying person free of charge.
Prams, wheelchairs, walking frames, mobility scooters (up to 90 cm wide), walking sticks and strollers are permitted at Marres. Segways, balance bikes, skateboards, scooters and roller skates are not permitted.

Yes, Marres is located in the vibrant city centre of Maastricht. It is the perfect place to start and explore the city. Did you know that we offer a number of guided walks in reception? That way you can discover the city of Maastricht but also the beautiful surroundings of Limburg by foot. Walking is one the most popular things to do in South Limburg.
Marres is located in a historic building, though unfortunately, only the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. We therefore offer free admission for those who need it.
People using assistance dogs are always welcome at Marres. At the same time, we trust that users of assistance dogs will make their own good judgment as to whether it is necessary to bring the dog, when its safety or well-being (or that of other animals and people) is at stake.
Marres is free of charge for students of Maastricht Institute of Arts, Jan van Eyck Academy & Institute of Performative Arts. All other students also receive a discount by showing their student ID and pay €5: half the regular price.
