Starting January 2026, Marres invites makers to take over our Friday nights! We’re offering a space where you can create your own program—whether it’s a workshop, performance, talk, presentation, or a hybrid event. Indoors or in the garden, intimate or bold, experimental or deeply personal. Admission is always free.
This open call is your chance to contribute to a vibrant, sensory Friday night program.
We aim to:
- welcome fresh voices and new perspectives
- foster collaboration and creative cross-pollination
- engage diverse audiences in meaningful ways
Our program categories:
- The Exhibition
Projects that respond to Marres’ current exhibitions. For this call, the focus is on Porous Grounds, Sacred Codes, exploring themes of collectivity, migration, diaspora, and cultural identity. In the summer, we aim to create a public program around the Limburg Biënnale, and in the fall, textiles, handcraft, and collaboration will take center stage in Celina Eceiza’s exhibition.
- Regional Makers
Young artists, designers, performers, musicians, and thinkers who come from — or live in — Limburg and the surrounding region.
- Outreach & Community
Activities that emerge from, or actively work with, local communities.
We’re open to both emerging and established makers, creatives, programmers, and speakers who have a compelling idea for Friday nights at Marres.
What we’re looking for:
Submissions will be evaluated on:
- Relevance to one or more of the program categories
- Artistic quality and sensory engagement
- Level of audience participation and connection
- Feasibility within Marres’ context and resources
What we offer:
- A fee of €350
- There’s also a small production budget available,
- Support from the Marres team
- Access to facilities and a floor manager during your event
- Promotion via our website, social media, and print materials
