festive book launch
On Saturday, November 27, at 4:30 p.m., the festive book launch of Marres’ latest publication Sensing Art, Training the Body will take place.
Sensing Art, Training the Body brings together 12 of the popular cahiers that Marres published with each exhibition between 2017 and 2021. Each is a variation on the traditional visitor’s catalog. They include The Painted Bird (2017), Dreaming Awake (2018), and Museum Motus Mori (2019).
Essays
In addition to the cahiers, this publication includes two new essays: publicist Edo Dijksterhuis writes about Marres’ immersive art installations and anthropologist and physician Anna Harris highlights the workshop series Training the Senses. At the launch, they talk about how they experience Marres’ projects, which focus on the senses and the language of the body.
History’s Footnote
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November are also the last weekends to see the current exhibition History’s Footnote: on Love and Freedom. We hope to celebrate the closing with you.
