Marres and Z33 are looking for a team of curators (minimum of two persons) for the tenth edition of Currents, which takes place from 17 December 2022 to 12 February 2023 at Marres. Currents is an annual group exhibition, showcasing works by recently graduated artists from art academies in Belgium, Germany, and the south of the Netherlands. The exhibition is framed by a broader coaching trajectory in which training, networking and professionalisation are central. Marres and Z33 yearly alternate as organizing party. In 2022, the anniversary edition will take place at Marres in Maastricht.
Z33 and Marres
Z33 and Marres are institutions for contemporary art in Belgium and the Netherlands. With Currents, they develop a platform for up-and-coming artists and curators to contribute to an international infrastructure for talent development. Over the past years, more than 160 artists from 12 academies have exhibited their work, gave presentations, and participated in workshops. In addition, over 20 young international curators boosted their careers by producing one of the Currents editions.
Requirements
We are looking for curators who:
- Enjoy working closely with young artists;
- Have a good feel for production work;
- Have a keen eye on logistics and planning;
- Have good writing skills;
- Pay great attention to the mediation of the exhibition with a wider audience
- Have the time in June and July 2022 to visit all the graduation shows in the Euroregion.
A fee and compensation for travel expenses are provided.
