The immersive work The Relativity of Matter by the Dutch artist Levi van Veluw is currently on view at Domaine de Kerguehennec in France. Van Veluw made the 350m2 installation especially for Marres in 2014, where it could also be seen that same year at the art house.
THE RELATIVITY OF MATTER
For a year Levi van Veluw worked on The Relativity of Matter, an all-encompassing installation that takes up an entire building, space or house. As soon as the doors close, visitors enter a jumble of corridors, doors, atmospheres, perspectives and colours that puts them to the test of their senses. In Marres, the first location where this work can be seen, 350m2 will be transformed into an unrecognizable and atmospheric dream landscape. The installation contains all kinds of elements from earlier work, but also marks a shift in his work from form and material research to the dark themes of fear, loss of control and loneliness. With The Relativity of Matter, Van Veluw presents a comprehensive scenographic experience that immerses visitors in a world of diverse expressive forms.
