Helena Julian and Tim Hollander
Z33 Hasselt and Marres Maastricht welcome Helena Julian and Tim Hollander as the new curators of Currents #8. Currents is an annual group exhibition featuring work by recently graduated artists from academies in Flanders, Brussels, North Rhine-Westphalia and the south of the Netherlands.
Currents #7 has been extended and will be on show throughout the summer at Z33 in Hasselt.
Helena Julian (BE) is a curator and writer. She studied Art History and Critical Theory at the University of Antwerp. She frequently writes for individual artists, institutions and magazines and teaches at the Sandberg Instituut. She was an assistant curator for If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution and organized solo exhibitions for bologna.cc.
Tim Hollander (NL) is an artist, curator, scenographer and designer. He earned his Bachelor Fine Arts at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht in 2014 and in attended the residency program at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht 2016-2017. He works in a variety of media including installation, sculpture, drawing and self-published books.
Currents is an annual group exhibition, showcasing works by recently graduated artists from art academies in Belgium, Germany, and the southern Netherlands. The exhibition will be embedded in a broader guidance trajectory in which training, networking and professionalization are central.
