Periodically Marres offers the stage to an artist or maker for a solo exhibition. In 2015 Marres presented Katja Mater: What We See and What We Know and in 2018 Marijn van Kreij: Nude in the Studio. Both made new work for the exhibition and Van Kreij also designed a scenography in which the windows of the house were opened and the light summer breeze set ingenious sound mobiles in motion. A third solo exhibition, Ferran Adrià: Notes on Creativity, was devoted to the sketched and designed universe the master chef created around his world-famous restaurant El Bulli in Roses, north of Barcelona.
