The exhibition The Measure of our Traveling Feet focused on migration. Young people from asylum seekers’ centres worked for six weeks together with students from the United World College and secondary schools in Maastricht. In the ceramics workshop of the Kunstfront the pupils designed an object made of clay that gave them a feeling of home.
Accompanied by the Hungarian artist Zsófia Szemző, they came up with so-called Traveling Books, which contain anonymous questions. When a Traveling Book comes your way, you may answer the question and then ask a new one. Then you pass the book on to someone else.
These clay objects and the accompanying stories became part of the exhibition together with the Traveling Books.
