Saturday, February 23: the young people who will participate in The Floor is Lava Youth Project met for the first time. The interns from the United World College were tasked with producing an introductory assignment for this first meeting. This wasn’t a simple task: the assignment had to transcend any language barriers, as not everyone in the group speaks Dutch or English. It was also especially important for the young people from the asylum seekers’ center to feel just as comfortable as the young people who have been familiar with Marres for a long time. These young people completed their social or vocational internship at Marres and feel so comfortable with this place that they had no hesitation signing up. And we’re glad they’re back!
