In the run-up to and during the exhibition Dreaming Awake, Marres organised a youth project. Young people from various secondary schools and asylum seekers’ centres in Maastricht and the surrounding area came together every Saturday to bring their own dream landscape to life with the help of professional artists, dancers and musicians.
This video shows how Jamie, a pupil at the Bonnefantencollege in Maastricht and Aya, who lives in the asylum seekers’ centre in Heerlen, created a dance together during one of the meetings. They were accompanied by professional dancer Amanda de Geus and depicted their dream world in dance.
